Croton "Mammy"

Croton ‘Mammy’ is a colorful tropical plant known for its narrow, twisting leaves and vivid blend of red, orange, yellow, green and burgundy. Its compact, upright growth makes it an excellent choice for adding year-round color and texture to Central Florida landscapes.

  • Vibrant tropical color: New and mature leaves display changing combinations of green, yellow, orange, red and deep burgundy.
  • Distinctive foliage: Its curled, corkscrew-shaped leaves create movement and contrast in tropical planting beds.
  • Ideal light conditions: Plant in full sun to part shade. Brighter light produces stronger leaf color, but protection from intense afternoon sun can help prevent scorching.
  • Easy landscape care: Water regularly while establishing. Once established, maintain evenly moist, well-drained soil without allowing the roots to remain waterlogged.
  • Wide applications: Excellent for foundation beds, poolside landscapes, entryways, decorative containers, borders and colorful mass plantings.
  • Important note: Croton ‘Mammy’ is sensitive to frost and cold weather. Plant it in a protected location and cover it when freezing temperatures are expected. Its sap can irritate skin, and the plant should not be eaten by people or pets.
